GGIS Math policy asks that students have, at the very least, a basic calculator to bring with them starting in 8th & 9th grade math. However, students will need a graphing calculator for later grades and will find it extremely useful for Algebra I as well. Therefore, Mrs. Petrone strongly recommends that students invest in a TI-84 calculator by the beginning of Quarter 2 if possible. The TI-84 is a calculator that will best serve them from grades 8-12, even in AP Statistics as 12th grader, and beyond (Mrs. Petrone used her’s through university).
Here are possible websites to order from: Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, jofogas.hu, and vatera.hu. On Amazon, the prices seem to go from approx. 100eur (ti-83) to 150eur (ti-84 ce). On jofogas.hu there may be some TI-83 available for 12,000Ft and TI-84 for 18,000Ft (used condition). So, it takes a bit of search to find the most suitable deal. Hope this helps!
Grade 9

While any graphing calculator will suffice, we recommend getting Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator. The Lab sections of our textbook have specific step-by-step instructions for TI-84 calculators. Possible websites to order from: Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.de. Sometimes deals for used ones can be found in jofogas.hu, and vatera.hu.
